The same pocket layout as the Long Haul but the frame and suspension of the Big Wild make the Wolverine an ultralight load hauling monster. Capable of carrying 50lbs comfortably, the Wolverine is a great choice for packrafting, long water carries, or extended trips with a lot of food weight. Up to 3" of torso adjusatbility on each size assures that you'll be able to dial in a perfect fit.

This 95L version of the Wolverine is perfect for packrafting, deep winter camping, guiding, or hauling gear for multiple people. This pack can easily handle any of the crazy gear intensive/deep backcounty trips that you can dream up.

Made out of Ultra400X which has a UHMWPE face fabric that is much more durable than pretty much any other fabric out there right now. This fabric is laminated which makes the fabric fully waterproof. This makes for a very durable, light and water resistant pack.

This pack is very intuitive and easy to use. We've left off any unnecessary features so that you can spend less time fussing with your pack and more time on trail. It can be ran with as little as two buckles, one on the roll top and one on the hip belt which means there is little hardware to break. Or you can load it up with compression straps and external strapping if you need the extra storage space.

Endless attachment points make it easy to customize the pack to your own needs even from trip to trip. Modular compression, bottom straps and various top strap styles make it easy to add extrenal gear storage if you find yourself needing extra storage space on any given trip. When the compression straps are removed there is no hardware leftover which makes for a very clean aesthetic and minimal weight.

The pack comes stock with a lycra pad sleeve on the back panel and a foam sit pad which can be used as a seat while taking breaks. The lycra sleeve is made out of very durable Venom Mesh which is made using UHWMPE fibers.

Torso Sizing:

This pack currently comes in three different torso sizes, each of which is adjustable by 3". These listed sizes are the actual torso sizes that the pack can be set to. We recommend going with a torso size that is as close as possible to your measured torso length, but being within .5"-1" of that size will typically work for someone. If you are on the upper end of a torso size we recommend sizing up.

To measure your torso size you will need to measure from your C7 Vertebrae down to your iliac crest/hip shelf. To get the most accurate measurement, it is best to have someone else measure your back with a flexible measuring tape. The measurement will most likely fall somewhere within our sizing chart. If you do not fall somewhere in our sizing chart shoot us an email and we can discuss custom torso sizing.

The goal for packs with a padded hip belt is to get the belt to ride so that the center line is close to riding on your hip bones. That way you will get the best load transfer to your hips, removing a bulk of the load from your shoulders.

Hip Belt Sizing:

26" belt for waist sizes 26-30"

30" belt for waist sizes 30-34"

34" belt for waist sizes 34" and up

We currently offer three hip belt sizes which are 26", 30" and 34". Each measurement is referring to the amount of padding that the belt will have. Each hip belt will come with enough adjustable webbing to fit up to about a 50" waist or so.

To find your correct hip belt size you will need to measure the circumference around your hips rather than your waist size. This measurement should be at least 4" larger than the padded portion of the hip belt.

When in doubt size down, as you do not want the belt to be too large. If the hip belt is too big, you will not be able to tighten the belt down all the way making for poor load transfer to your hips.

If you want a lighter pack/hip belt you can always size down on the belt. This will however make hip belt pockets less accessible while wearing the pack.

Frame Size:

The Wendigo pack comes with our taller load hauling frame which has very effective load lifters. The load lifters can pull all of the weight off of your shoulders and put it onto your hips. This gives you the ability to control exactly how much weight is carried on your shoulders or your hips at all times. This is the same frame, hip belt and suspension setup as our Big Wild pack.
While the comfort rating on packs is a bit subjective, here is what we have found in our testing of our packs.

Our load hauling packs such as the Wendigo and the Big Wild can handle loads of up to 50lbs without stressing your shoulders and are very comfortable within this weight range.

50-65lbs is about the max recommend carrying capacity.

35-40lbs will be comfortable for long days on the trail.

30lbs and under will feel like there is almost nothing in the pack at all.
Our packs are hand-made by us right here in Michigan and are constructed using the finest materials and the best construction methods. These packs are ready to handle anything you can throw at them, and will give you thousands of miles of use.

All stress points are reinforced and bar tacked.

Our packs are very water resistant and are made out of completely waterproof fabric. The optional seam sealing will make the packs very water resistant, but a pack liner is still recommended especially for important items.
The entire pack is made out of Ultra400X.

Accent colors are made out of a 210 robic nylon.

Lycra mesh on the back panel is Venom Mesh which is made using tough UHMWPE fibers to make it very durable.

Our new packs are made using a more environmentally friendly line of laminated fabrics.

The proprietary Challenge RUV recycled film backing is 100% recycled and 97% UV Resistant. Every yard of ECOPAK™ saves over one pound of CO2, compared to Nylon pack fabric. ECOPAK™ contains no harmful TPU, PVC, DWR or other coatings. CO2 emissions from manufacturing our recycled polyester are: 50% lower than Nylon 38% lower than virgin filmcomparable to organic cotton

The main body of these packs is made out of 400d Ultra PE (similar to Dyneema) is about 20% lighter, with twice the abrasion resistance of other 400d UPE fabrics. With or without a liner, it is the ultimate high-modulus pack fabric and the most durable fabric we have tested for its weight.

Our shoulder straps and hip belt wings are made out of 1/2" thick evazote foams. These are the most resilient and longest lasting foams that we can find. They will give you many years of use without flattening out.

The woven fabric is 67% UHMWPE and 33% Repreve recycled polyester.
